Holidays

Had the best possible start to the holidays with KoiNoNia Outing at Botanics and BBQ dinner at Jervis' house.

Started the morning with a nice walk to Church with Jarvis and Alex which was really cool cos the sun was up and shining brightly promising a great day of fun in the garden. Settled down all the stuff in Church before surprising Jarvis with his birthday epiphone, the look on his face was quite priceless haha! He was stunned to say the least and noticeably touched.

Had a chartered bus take us to botanic gardens which still represents lots of natural beauty after all these years. brought back lots of memories when I used to go there almost weekly in primary school for picnics and all. started the day off with light praise and worship with As We Gather and The Steadfast Love and Come Away, which was quite calming, soothing, peaceful and amazing at the same time. Especially so when the sun shone brightly with little breeze, but there was a quiet but soothing breeze just as we sang the first chorus of Come Away. Shaded by nice palm trees made it even better, the sun seemed to darken as we sung and praised God, but the dark clouds seemed to halt above our heads and not push on into our side of the garden. Then came the walk in the garden, and decided to walk to the evolution garden, which did bring back some memories from my con3 camp, but did not have the same calming effect, probably because the sun was just way too hot at that time. The walk there though was nice, stretches of shade provided by canopy of trees almost formed in the shape of a tunnel was nice, and the lake with turtles and fishes was quite a wonder in itself. Nasi Lemak lunch was too. Post lunch we played frisbee for quite a while with the new orange frisbee I helped Jarvis buy on fri which was pretty fun and then went to get myself a ice cold bundaberg ginger beer yum! Started to rain (pour is a better word to describe the intensity) so we had to cut our picnic short and make a dash for shelter and take all our stuff with us.

BBQ at Jervis house was really fun, made me miss the Aqua BBQs we had during our term (house outing and chalet, ndc party and jts) not to mention the class bbq end of ip2 too, most of which i was usually one of the main chefs of the evening. today was no different. got my place behind the fire together with Sam and BenSew, forming the 3 musketeers who fanned the fire like siao to keep it burning till all the food was out while providing the audience with entertainment while belting out random songs playing from Sew's Ipod, with help from 3 very helpful ladies, Kit, Geri and Tarcia. Quote of the day from Sew "We cook, We sing, We should get paid man!" Absolutely spot on Sew haha! The food was pretty good, and although the initial batch of charcoal was not good and burned out very quickly, turned out okay in the end and we finished the charcoal just as we finished the last batch of food, cooked by the chefs for the chefs and assistants and the girls who had not eaten yet. The chicken fillets were especially tasty. Birthday celebration for Lenny followed, happy 16th dude! Roasted marshmallows proved to be icing on the cake for a great BBQ and to top off a great night.

Supper with Jarvis, Ben Byrne, Vic and Francis at Ming's and a slow walk back home with Jarvis, stopping by his house for a drink and chatted with him and Marianne who just got back too. Great day, Great night!

Other than that Holidays have been kinda simple and featured lots of rest and sleep. Had to miss out a dinner and stayover at Jem's due to a bad lip infection, which made me feel kinda tired throughout the week as well. Bummer!

Jesus in my life I see
You are God who walks with me
You hold my life in your hands
Close beside You I will Stand
I give all my life to You
Help me Jesus to be true

Jesus Christ Our Hope

Hallowed be thy name
Come and let Your glory,
Come and let Your glory fall.

Our Father, who art in Heaven
The rocks cry out Your fame
Come and let Your glory,
Come and let Your glory fall.

I will sing, sing a new song
I will sing, sing a new song
I will sing, sing a new song to the Lord

Let your kingdom come
Let your will be done
On earth as it is in heaven
Every eye proclaim
The mercy of Your name
On earth as it is in heaven.

God give us new every morning
Mercy his daily bread
In the name of Jesus
In the name of Jesus we pray

And lead us, not to temptation
But deliver us with Your hand
In the name of Jesus
In the name of Jesus we pray
Father we pray

I will sing, sing a new song
I will sing, sing a new song
I will sing, sing a new song to the Lord

Let your kingdom come
Let your will be done
On earth as it is in heaven
Every eye proclaim
The mercy of Your name
On earth as it is in heaven.

For the kingdom is yours
And the power is yours
And the glory forever Amen
For the kingdom is yours
And the power is yours
And the glory forever Amen
For the kingdom is yours
And the power is yours
And the glory forever Amen
For the kingdom is yours
And the power is yours
And the glory forever Amen

To whom shall we go Lord? You alone have the message of eternal life and we have learned to believe and trust.
